MIRAS AT ALBA LIGHT SOURCE
ALBA Synchrotron located near Barcelona was inaugurated in April 2010 and opened to users in 2012. Seven experimental beamlines were built in the first phase, dedicated to diverse x-ray techniques and crystallography. BL01-MIRAS, the first phase II beamline to be built and the "8th passenger" at ALBA, was completed in 2016, and has been open to users through competitive calls since October that year. This website is dedicated to the Synchroton Infrared Microspectroscopy (SIRMS) technique - in Spanish, MIRAS, or Microespectroscopía Infrarroja con RAdiación Sincrotrón.
It was started in 2009 with a view to PROMOTE the construction of the MIRAS beamline at ALBA Synchrotron. This is now completed! However, the website will remain active as a hub to INFORM the scientific community on new developments at the MIRAS BEAMLINE, PROVIDE a point of contact to share ideas, needs and scientific interests and SERVE as a source of information about the technique and its applications.
